A Petition on Interconnectedness
For those who have already signed the Golden Rule Resolution, sometimes more than once, my apologies. Before I had the system backup procedure figured out, I confess that I managed to lose the list of signatories.
Soooooo…. if you could, just one last time, take a moment and sign the Golden Rule Resolution at this link – http://goldenruleradical.org/the-golden-rule-petition .
The Resolution was created over a year ago as a collaborative effort of a number of people from around the world. I realize that there are other similar efforts, not the least of which is Karen Armstrong’s Charter for Compassion which I have written about previously.
However, it seems to me that we cannot have too many of these projects. No one would suggest that we should leave responsibility for peace on earth, or social justice, or relief for oppression in the hands of a few.
Neither does it make sense to say that one petition, one resolution, one proclamation is enough. Rather, I would wish to see a hundred such documents, a thousand, a million, all with even a few names attached.
The so-called “Golden Rule” is the very essece of reciprocal action and the recognition of our interdependence,
I hope that you’ll find the Golden Rule Resolution worth supporting.
David
